Fred's cousin Grady (Albert Reed, Jr.) pays a visit, accompanied by his new wife Margaret (Marguerite Ray) and overweight stepdaughter Betty Jean (Gladys Perry). Cousin Grady's stepdaughter Betty Jean stands to receive a $10,000 dowry on her wedding day from Grady, which sets Fred (also upon Grady's prodding) to playing matchmaker with uninterested Lamont.
