Saul Turteltaub (born 1932) served as a co-executive producer of Sanford and Son with Bernie Orenstein and also wrote 22 episodes for the series. Saul has served as a producer or has written episodes for many popular TV projects, particularly such popular TV series such as Sanford and Son, The Dick Van Dyke Show, Love, American Style, That Girl (for which he also directed several episodes), Kate & Allie, The Cosby Show, Cosby, and the short-lived TV serise Foley Square. Saul is the father of fellow TV producer/writer/director Jon Turteltaub, and the former brother in law of actress Fritzi Burr, who appeared on Sanford and Son in various roles during the series's run.
