About Sandra and Fred's "Tower"Edit
Fred, in trying to create his own "lasting legacy", constructs a tower in the junkyard, to the objections of Lamont, who, unrealizingly, influences Fred to build the monstrosity after a visit with him and Sandra to a local art museum. The result is a brand-new "Watts Tower," of sorts, constructed out of the junk in Fred's backyard. When harshly critiqued by Lamont's new girlfriend Sandra who's an art critic, when Lamont shows her, and then after Sandra breaks the news of what she told Lamont about what she thought of the tower gently to Fred, who became engrossed in the project, ignoring his duties around the house and in the junkyard, Fred dejectedly scraps the project, demolishing it completely; Lamont consoles Fred, reminding him that he, his only child, is his greatest legacy.
