Apparently word spreads quickly when someone wins in the in the illegal numbers racket lotteries in the Watts community where Fred and Lamont lives; Not only was Bubba, who supposedly had his car impounded, where he couldn't take Fred, who won $600, but spent $100 on his new outfit, to Las Vegas, and Aunt Ethel, who claimed to need a gall bladder operation, a good portion of his winnings, but a robber who had a Smith and Wesson revolver in his camera/notepad bag, who was posing as a reporter for the Los Angeles Times, pulls a gun on the two, Fred says while being held up "Hey, you're not from The Times!", the robber responds, "If I was, would I be doing this, dummy!?"
