About Julio's mother Edit
In the episode "Watts Side Story", when Julio's sister Maria and Mrs. Fuentes, visit L.A., Lamont decides to show Maria around town; being cordial, and a good host, he takes Maria out "on a dinner date" , and shows her around L.A., it garners the contemptful curiosity of Fred, who already has his views about Puerto Ricans, as well as Mrs. Fuentes, Julio's mother, who questions Lamont's motives in taking out Maria, who has no hangups about it. When Fred and then Mrs. Fuentes decide to sneak over to the restaurant where Lamont takes Maria, the two have already left, Fred and his accidental date, Julio's mother surprise each other, sitting at a table together in dark sunglasses, only to be met by Skillet and Leroy, who think that they are out together!
In the episode "Fuentes, Fuentes, Sanford and Chico", she, Lamont and Julio are able to persuade Fred, who stubbornly choses to stay at a 35 cent a day flophouse in Downtown L.A. by cooking a big "Puerto Rican Pigs Knuckles" dinner, all while getting Lamont, who visits him to break the news, that Julio and she were moving in with him!
