A rather stiff upper-lip British gentleman, Mr. Grayson is called by Fred and Bubba when Fred, out of boredom and in an attempt to impress Mrs. Gordon (Royce Wallace), the mother of Lamont's finacee Janet, decides to try to break the world's record for going the most consecutive hours without sleep; when Grayson drops by, Fred, who had been up for 6 straight days, needed only a few more minutes before the record would be broken...However, while Mr. Grayson is conversing with Lamont, Bubba, Esther, and Janet's son Roger, about the excitement Fred generated in his record breaking attempt, Fred dozes off on the couch, missing the record by only 43 seconds! Just before they find him on the couch, all were wondering where Fred disappeared to; an impatient Grayson explains that he has a busy schedule -- or, as he pronounces it -- shedd - you - ull -- he tells them that he has a man that he has to see who had eaten nothing but prunes for six straight days and that "obviously I don't want to keep him waiting!"
