Fred's Treasure Garden was the 73rd overall episode of Sanford and Son. Also the 11th episode of Season Four, it first aired November 29, 1974.
Grady, who is house-sitting for Fred discovers that one of the vegetables growing in his garden is "wild parsley," only Lamont and Rollo recognize it by a different name: marijuana! Perhaps this explains why, a few hours later, Grady, Aunt Esther, and even the neighborhood beat cops Hoppy and Smitty (who, coming off of duty, paid a visit) are in such "high" spirits (not to mention the amount off Mint Julep they were drinking)! This was one of several Sanford and Son episodes filmed while Redd Foxx was absent from the series due to a contract dispute.
