Ernest "Skillet" Mayhand (born March 1, 1916 in Ohio- died May 12, 2007) was one half of the Leroy & Skillet comdey team that appeared on numerous risque comedy albums for LaFF Records during the 1960's, performing with future Sanford and Son castmates Redd Foxx, Slappy White, and LaWanda Page, who were all longtime friends of Skillet and Leroy. A veteran entertainer from the Chitlin Circuit of the 1940's and 1950's, Skillet once served as an opening act for future comedy team mate and fellow Sanford and Son castmate Leroy Daniels, as well as Redd Foxx, Page, and Rudy "Dolemite" Moore. In addition to his work on Sanford and Son Skillet also appeared in the films Handle with Care (1964), Petey Wheatstraw (1977) and Rude (1982) with Dolemite. Eariler in his career, he appeared in an episode of the 1950's CBS comedy series Amos and Andy, in a cameo role as Higgins in The Convention, in 1953. Skillet died of natural causes in Los Angeles.
