Charlene "Charlie" Phillips was a minor character who appears in the Season 6 episode of Sanford and Son titled "When John Comes Marching Home". The part of Cherlene, which was an uncredited role, was played by Tamara Dobson.
At the end of the episode "When John Comes Marching Home", Lamont, after breaking off the engagement and calling off the planned wedding to Janet, disocvers that Fred, in thinking that Lamont would be moving out after marrying Janet, rented his room out to a "Charlie Phillips", as Fred claims although Lamont would'nt be moving, they could still use the extra money, as Fred tries to have Lamont sleep on the couch!
When "Charlie" turns out to be an atrractive, statuesque woman, by the name of Charlene, "Charlie" as she says her friends call her, she asks Fred, "Can you show me to my room?", Fred sheepishly responds, "So it wasn't for the money!"
