Aunt Esther Meets Her Son was the 124th overall episode of Sanford and Son. Also the 13th episode of Season Six, it first aired on NBC-TV on December 10, 1976.
Esther and Woody welcome their son Daniel, but quickly discover they must practice the forgiveness that Esther preaches.
Eric Laneuville makes his first appearance as Daniel, newly adopted son of Aunt Esther (LaWanda Page). Upon learning that Daniel is an atheist, the pious Esther throws him out of the house. It is up to Fred and Lamont to convince Esther that Daniel's lack of faith is due to a lifetime of hard knocks. Note: Eric Laneuville makes his debut in the role of Daniel Anderson. Sid McCoy and Renny Roker both appear as customers. Helen Martin and Cathy Cooper appear as Aunt Esther's church sisters, and Shirley Washington appears as a salesgirl at Anderson Hardware Store.
