Full synopsis[]
Lamont suffers buyer's regret after the pool table he gave Fred for his birthday brings the boys over for billiards every day while Fred's work and girlfriend Donna (Lynn Hamilton) go neglected. Lamont (Demond Wilson) buys his father Fred (Redd Foxx) a pool table as a birthday present -- and lives to regret it. Before long, Fred and his buddies have transformed the Sanford living room into their own personal pool hall!! It's bad enough for Lamont that Fred's buddies never seem to want to leave, but when they begin eating the Sanfords out of house and home, Lamont is really behind the eight ball!!
Eager to get rid of the big eating buddies, Leroy, Skillet, and Bubba, about who he says "these bellies are homegrown!!", Fred unloads the pool table, selling it to Grady's buddy Otis (Stymie Beard) for $75, he attempts to conceal his windfall from the sell of the table from Lamont, staging as if there was a robbery, and that the table was stolen. But, alas, Lamont, who was listening and watching by the stairs, becomes privy to Fred's scheme, and then also stages a phony robbery, and retreives the $75 he paid for the table, much to the chagrin of Fred, who becomes the sucker thats "crying about (losing) $75!"
